Create a Tournament

Post a multi-team cricket or badminton tournament through Community and set its dates, venue, team capacity, fee, prizes and rules.

Before you begin

  • Open Community from an eligible Academy Premium or Coach Pro account.
  • Confirm the account profile has the correct sport and location.
  • Decide the total number of participating teams, including your own host team.

Open the tournament form

  1. Open Community.
  2. Select the option to post a match or tournament.
  3. Choose Tournament.

Enter basic details

  • Tournament Name is required.
  • Description is optional.
  • Start Date must be today or a future date.
  • End Date must be on or after the Start Date.
  • Registration Deadline is required and is selected no later than the Start Date.

Add the venue

  • Enter the exact venue or area.
  • Select city and complete the available state and district fields.
  • Enable Ground Already Booked when the venue is confirmed.
  • Add the optional venue name when the ground is booked.

Choose tournament format

  • Select one or more age groups.
  • For cricket, available formats include 20, 30, 40 and 50 Overs and Test Match.
  • For badminton, available formats include Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Team Format.
  • Enter a whole-number Teams Allowed value from 3 to 32. Your host team counts as the first slot.

Set registration fee, prizes and rules

  • Choose Free Entry or Paid Entry.
  • For Paid Entry, enter a valid fee per team.
  • Prize Details and Rules & Format Details are optional.

Create the tournament

  1. Review all required fields.
  2. Select Create Tournament.
  3. Wait for the Tournament posted confirmation.
  4. VR SPORT automatically adds the host as the first confirmed team and opens the squad editor when available.

If the host team is not added

If the app warns that the tournament was created but the host team was not added automatically, reopen the tournament and verify the team section. Contact support if the host slot remains missing.
