Control Who Can Send Messages in an Academy Group
Choose between a conversation where Players can reply and a read-only announcement group.
Choose the permission during creation
- Open the group-creation form.
- Choose Allow Players to reply for a two-way conversation.
- Choose Read-only for an announcement-style group.
- Complete the group creation.
Allow Players to reply
Players can use the message composer when the group is active. Coaches and other permitted members can also send when the group is not read-only.
Read-only
The current message thread blocks sending for non-admin members when the group is read-only. The Academy owner or an admin member can continue posting announcements.
Paused or archived groups
A deactivated or archived group is read-only for everyone, including the owner and administrators. Reactivate a deactivated group before sending again. Archived groups cannot be reactivated.
Verify an announcement group after creation
Open the group using a non-admin member account and confirm that the message composer is unavailable. If a member can send when the group was created as Read-only, contact VR SPORT support with the group name and account role.
