Create a Batch Group Chat

Create one communication group for active Players and Coaches assigned to a selected Academy batch.

Before you begin

  • The Academy must be on Growth or Premium.
  • The batch must exist and be active.
  • Add Players to the batch before using the Batch details creation flow.

Create from Messages

  1. Open Messages and select Add.
  2. Choose Batch.
  3. Select the required batch. A batch with an existing group shows Chat already exists.
  4. Review or edit the group name.
  5. Choose whether Players can reply.
  6. Optionally add a welcome message.
  7. Select Create Chat.

Create from the Batch details screen

  1. Open Batches and select the required batch.
  2. In the Group Chat area, select Create Batch Group.
  3. Choose Players can reply or Read Only as shown on the current screen.
  4. Enter an optional welcome message.
  5. Review the group summary and select Create Group.

Members added

  • Academy owner
  • Active Players assigned to the selected batch
  • Active Academy staff with Attendance & Communication permission when created from the central Messages flow
  • Coaches assigned to the selected batch when created from the central Messages flow

Review the member summary before creation

VR SPORT provides both a central Messages flow and a Batch details flow. Review the member count and access summary shown before selecting Create Group.

Note: If an assigned Coach, Academy staff member or Player is missing after creation, check the current Batch assignments and use the troubleshooting guide.

If the batch cannot create a group

  • Free plan: upgrade to Growth or Premium.
  • No Players in the batch: add Players first when using the Batch details flow.
  • Inactive batch: reactivate the batch before creating the group.
  • Existing group: open the current group instead of creating a duplicate.
